
This week marked the last of a series of 4 very helpful and eye opening coaching sessions with Brigitte Jaquillard. I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you Brigitte for this incredibly deep learning experience. It wasn’t until these rich one on one sessions that I understood how much more there was to learn and how much more I could improve as a leader, presenter, team member and as a person basically.
By focussing on the impact I have on people right now we embarked on a journey to learn how to better involve others in meetings and discussions, what tactics I can apply to achieve that as well as looking closely at the Leadership Style I aspire to have.
In that process I very much valued Brigitte’s insights, professional creativity and thorough feedback. She really helped me understand that when a message or idea is presented to others, it’s only real when it also affects them. Brigitte really made a point about “treat ideas or a message like a gift and see what people’s response is“ and that is so true. Ideas alone do not move others. It’s the “how“ that energizes people and creates an atmosphere of mutual understanding, collaboration, partnership and trust.
From the start, Brigitte made it clear that the overarching goal was to help me be the very best version of myself as a leader, presenter and team member. The sessions were genuine, emotional at times but effective and energizing. I applied what we practiced in several business settings and felt a different vibe already.
For those of us in Leadership positions, our Leadership style is an essential expression of our character. I had to take a hard look at that again and focus on my drivers and cornerstones as Brigitte calls them. The session on unraveling my forward looking Leadership Statement was so cool. I’m happy with the outcome of that because it’s really who I am.
I had a desire to learn more about myself and from Brigitte and feel that I achieved that on both ends!
